Amazing memorial near the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany. Very deceptive looking from the edges, likes a sea of concrete squares of slightly varied height. Until you begin to walk through and the entire floor drops and suddenly you are looking up at 10 feet high solid slabs towering over you, feeling lost and very small and insignificant. Perhaps the symbolic feeling of what happened, when "First they came for the communists..." until no one was left to speak for me. Powerful and thought provoking.
