Latvian National Liquor

Stopped at a Rimi supermarket in downtown Riga, Latvia and picked up an ice cream for Jihye, some veggies for dinner, and a bottle of the national liquor.  It is basically known as 'Balzams'.  There is an older original version that sells at 45% alcohol, but these days everyone buys the slightly berry-flavored and merely 30% alcohol version.  Took the advice of our host here and tried the newer one.  First sip thoughts...won't be buying this one again.  Sorry Latvia..I'll stick to your beer.
