Wouldn't you know it. Fifteen months around the globe and we finally reunite with family and hop into a rental car in Chicago to go visit relatives that haven't been seen in up to 20 years and the first rental seizes up and the electrical system shuts down. (maybe that's what the grease marker scrawl of 'dead' meant on the front windshield...) Even got our bags locked in the back hatch before exchanging the rental for another one. The adventures never end...
