Trying to get across the border before the immigration offices on either side close and we are stranded. All of the Western sites have said it closes at 6pm…or 8pm…or 6pm on one side and 8pm on the other. The Korean sites have said the Laos side is open until 8pm, with no mention of the Thai side. We got off the boat at 6:05 pm, another couple thought about joining us but weren't sure and decided to stay over night at the Laos border city, which is what nearly everyone does. We are the only ones racing in a tuk-tuk and making an attempt.
