Touching a 50,000 Volt Transformer

Not exactly soft and cuddly, a bit of a sting, but not all that bad.  (The hand on the right in the second photo is mine, the visible spark was too small to catch on film)  Actually reminds me of touching an electric fence as a young boy in Norfolk, Nebraska...I know everything appears and is remembered larger from childhood, but this seemed like nothing compared to that.  Nearly everyone in the group went through before I nudged Jihye to do it.  The zap lasted about 0.00000043 seconds before she shrieked and yanked her hand back.  (Also tried to take a photo of Jihye touching the transformer, but was not humanly possible to take a photograph that quickly...although we do have a photo of the guide staring at her with his hand held in mid-air.)  Couldn't help but laugh, but she told me later it didn't hurt as much as she just doesn't like that feeling.  Fair enough.
The transformer was also supposed to light up the boat, but the tour guide had overdone it and burned it out about four days ago.  Instead, he showed us how the 'skin effect' could use three people to light a fluorescent tube held by the person furthest away.
