One of the clocks that stopped at the moment of the powerful November 9, 1880 earthquake that caused extensive damage in Zagreb and at the cathedral in particular. Also, the Zagreb Cathedral was originally constructed out of poor quality stone, meaning that it is under almost constant repairs and renovations. (as you can see in the photos we took, one spire is currently covered, as well as the northern side of the church which you could not see.) Outside there was a demonstration of how badly the church had degraded and the work that goes into removing and replacing each individual stone with new ones.
