The great benefactor of Sarajevo, Gazi Husrev-Bey, also had constructed this 'inn' for travelers who were allowed to stay for free up to three days on there way through Sarajevo. The hotel next door went out of their way during construction to help preserve the ruins which now stand exactly where they had, alongside the long historic market which is still in use today.
