Our host in Thessaloniki was gracious enough to take us out tonight. We visited a local tavern run by a man from Crete. Supposedly the food, drinks, and snacks at this bar are all of Crete origins. To mention a few, we had: tiny Cretan olives, super-hard dried out bread that came as-is or served with fresh hand-mashed tomato and feta cheese crumbled on top to help 'soften' it up a bit, some AMAZING smoked pork pieces that were seasoned with a fantastic oregano and peppery flavor, and tons of Cretan raki/tsipouro. We had great food, super drinks, and a fantastic time with our host, the locals, and his Ukranian friend. Headed out for an extended round two afterwards but had forgotten to take photos by that point.
