Around this time half a dozen squad cars came whizzing into the street we were on, parked, and got into formation. They marched down and cut the chains off of the benches the protesters had put up blocking car access to the church. Then the police regrouped and tried to break through the human chain of protesters. This is when things got a bit rough, plenty of shoving, pulling, injured protesters and cops, and even one poor guy who took a pretty good gash on the forehead or bridge of his nose came out with blood pouring down his face. Exactly the moment the battery of my camera died out. Use your imagination…
