Trains and Buses

After a loooong night sleeping in the Tel Aviv airport, we chose the more adventurous route to get to our apartment.  Since the recent flooding, the trains were not running from the airport to the city.  Instead we hopped on a free shuttle with an inexperienced driver who needed help from a passenger after missing the central train station once.  Then hopping onto a local train for two stops.  Up and out to find a local mini-bus.  Think of something like a city full of mini-buses, like a fleet of soccer moms, picking up and dropping off people everywhere.  Had to ask four drivers to find a bus heading our way, then pay and enjoy the communal spirit of everyone passing money up to the driver and the change back to the passenger.  Finally got off near our apartment and managed to meet our host as his place is not on any map.  It is a converted factory site that is now full of small apartments.  Totally different world over here, barely organized chaos, EXACTLY what we were looking for.
