Directly in front of the Museum of Austro-Hungarian Period - Sarajevo 1878 - 1918 is the exact spot where Gavrilo Princip assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, and set into motion the events that culminated in WWI.
