Crash Course in Croatia

So we found our apartment, met our amazing host, he shared some drinks, made dinner, and we were off on a three hour long conversation.  He mentioned his friend would stay here tonight, but that we may never even meet him as he would come late and leave early.  How far from the truth this would turn out to be.  His friend happens to be the passionate, ambitious, and incredibly inspiring Deputy Mayor of Duga Resa, a small town a short drive from Zagreb.  The evening continued with many laughs, some serious discussions, and finally Zoran giving Jihye and I the absolute best, most thorough explanation of all things related to Croatia, as well as a highlight reel of cities and places to visit along the Adriatic Coast as well as inland.  When we finally said 'goodnight' at around 2 a.m., he had already offered to give us a private tour the next day of his town and another city nearby, and then he mentioned that he knew a reporter or two and asked if we'd be willing to be interviewed discussing our world travels.  Absolutely we would!  What a great night, and again, just a perfect introduction to a country neither of us had much, if any, familiarity with before arriving.  Thank you so very much to our host and Zoran for welcoming us so warmly!
