Finally booked our flights for a chaotically beautiful holiday season. Our itinerary is as follows:
12/18 - ferry to Hydra
12/19 - ferry to Athens/overnight ferry to Heraklion, Crete
12/30 - flights to Athens/Tel Aviv, Israel (arrive 12:30 a.m.)
1/13 - flight to Bucharest, Romania
1/16 - overnight train to Sofia, Bulgaria
1/18 - flight to Dubai, UAE
1/22 - flight to Colombo,Sri Lanka/Bangkok, Thailand (arrive 1/23)
1/22-4/1(?) travel around SE Asia
TBD - flight to Istanbul, Turkey
Whew…now the only thing we have to worry about is bankrupt airlines.
