Words will never explain the chaos trying to enter the lower crypt and spot where Jesus Christ is believed to have been born. I can say they should try to have a single file line before letting us all mass and rugby scrum our way down a half circle of slippery narrow marble steps to an entry doorway through which no more than one body can fit. I could admit that is was mostly the Russian Orthodox 'Christians' that were shoving, pushing, and not exactly taking turns. I could complain that what Christians believe makes them 'holier than thou' was certainly not on display at this most holy of sites. I could call bullshit on calling yourself a 'good Christian' for visiting this pilgrimage site all the while shoving children and women out of your way and throwing far more than one sharp elbow to do so.
Or, I could just humbly wait 30 minutes to move forward 5 steps for a second time.
