The train pulls into this fenced off area, a particularly friendly immigration officer boards the train, makes brief conversation, takes our passports into the building (you can see him with our passports heading inside in one of the photos) and returns in about 10 minutes with your exit stamp. Then you sit on the tracks for another 20-30 minutes, and woosh, off into Serbia. Simple as that.
