Had read a gruesome tale of how at this very spot, one leader had quelled a local uprising by seating the rebel leader on a heated iron seat, placing a heated crown upon his head and forcing him to hold a heated iron scepter. Then, after he was sufficiently cooked to death, forcing his fellow rebels to eat his cooked flesh. Oh...but turns out it isn't at this Virgin St. Mary sculpture, it's at the OTHER Virgin St. Mary statue. Bummer.
