We went inside the train station mid-afternoon and split our next 8 hours or so between the main waiting lobby area and a fast food place that had free wi-fi. While there we could keep watching our train (099) moving towards the top of the departure board.
We also got to see plenty of the security around the station. Two soldiers, headed by a 6ft. tall woman that could probably handle me with ease, walked around her massive German Shepard. Every entrance at the train station has metal scanners and an X-ray scanner that all of our luggage had to pass through. Although the detectors beeped with almost every person, no one was ever stopped or checked more thoroughly. So...all bark and no bite?
I was in no mood to find out.
