Happens to fall on June 12th. Here are the extravagant stage, lighting, and sound system being set up along the rear Kremlin walls. Throughout the day myriad groups climbed onto the stage in constant and tightly scripted rehearsals for the raucous celebrations to come. This was all well enough...until...DAMN...they are blocking the Lenin Mausoleum!!! Security is thick and the entire rear of the Kremlin and Red Square is cordoned off. I had read the day before they were considering whether or not to finally bury Lenin removing all chance of seeing his embalmed body.
OR...a perfect excuse to continue traveling without cease and simply return the next spring. One of the two.
