Approaching Dubai Airport

Only as we approached did our seat mate tip us off to the fact that there are indeed two airports servicing the Dubai area.  One that we had prepared for, linked directly with metro to a central bus to our apartment in Sharjah.  The other, we were learning, was a mere 60 kilometers away, which raised the question if we could even get back up close enough to Dubai to catch a metro in time, and even after that, would the buses still be running to Sharjah, an entirely separate emirate.  Never without an adventure.
