Gregory of Nin, Grgur Ninski

A bishop who defied the pope and Church officials around 925.  He offered religious services in the national language, a major break from the Latin-only services.  For his efforts he was eventually banished to a distant bishopric and disappeared from history.  This large statue at the Golden Gate and about 25 steps from the door to our apartment is also done by Ivan Mestrovic.
