Our Apartment in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Has to rank very near, if not the top place we have stayed so far for a number of reasons.  It is inside the walled fortress old town area, the building is 500 years old, one of the oldest.  The alleyways leading to it are a Roman labyrinth, the first staircase is marble steps, there are four or five different flights of stairs as well as a ladder to get all the way up from street to loft.  The interior is full redecorated and modern while still feeling like you are staying in a corner of the history museum.  We took the single room, but there is also an entire three bedroom apartment with kitchen and loft upstairs that they rent out year round.  Simply spectacular.
