Barracks

Inside the women's barracks at Auschwitz II-Birkenau.  They were constructed with the intention that the deplorable conditions would lead to as many deaths as quickly as possible.  Six women or more per small wooden berth.  It was far better to have a top bunk as the starvation diarrhea would make sleeping on a lower bunk or the cold concrete floor unimaginable.
