Cattle Car

This is an example of the windowless cattle car that was used to transport Jews and other prisoners to Auschwitz.  Trips could take days or longer and many would die before even reaching the labor/extermination camp.  Our guide told us that up to 80 people would be forced into a single car.  Recall the scene from Schindler's List of Oskar Schindler spraying the cattle cars with water if you need a reference for what the excruciating ordeal must have been like.
