Human Hair
Out of respect for the victims, there is no photography or video allowed in this room. When the camp was liberated, they discovered giant sacks containing human hair. Seven tons was discovered of which merely two tons is on display. The hair was used commercially to make rugs, rope, and other textiles. A rug that was tested and shown to use human hair is also on display. To get any sense of how much hair is displayed here, look at the 40,000 pairs of shoes video and imagine that much space filled with human hair. And that is only two tons out of seven tons that was discovered, and who knows how many tons more that were destroyed or previously used. There are no words.
