Germany has done a noteworthy job of facing their past and displaying the truth about what happened to see that it never does again. Here is the very informative public display that explained how Hitler was able to gain so much power so quickly. Set directly in front of part of the Berlin Wall that was allowed to stand for just this purpose, so no one ever forgets.

Your moving through much more WWWII history then I would have expected. All of it fascinating. My father lost a brother and my mother lost a husband in the war. How could such a madman gain nearly total control over an entire country?
