From the Soviet concert building and our soaring views of the port, we followed along the popular Culture Kilometer and found near the end this Soviet prison. Quite imposing replete with a guard tower to shoot anyone who felt the urge to escape. We passed on a chance to tour it with lantern in hand, as we assume there will be far larger and more meaningful prisons to tour.
A bit misplaced was the beautifully decorated cafe around the back of the prison, surrounded by barbed wire. Weird.
